La Seguiriya Restaurant and Hotel Rural.......
In the year 2000, the Flamenco singer PACO MOYANO together with his family, refurbished an 18th century burgerhouse, situated in the historic part of Alhama de Granada. It thrones like an eagle's nest on top of the impressive gorge leading to the nearby Natural Resorts of the Sierras of Tejeda-Almijara-Alhama.
Our goal was to maintain the enchantment of the house as reflected in the Seguiriya tunes by using the traditional materials which our forefathers used. Thus you will find floors and walls in classical style and make and the woodwork spreading its typical odour. Tableclothes and napkins as well as the linen (all in cotton) add to the warm and cosy atmosphere.
A special highlight is the terrace with its breathtaking view into the gorge and its plants. Depending on the weather, up to 40 persons may eat or pass there time reading, playing cards or having a glass of wine while the River Marchan murmurs. And then there are still the birds...
Whereas you enjoy the view onto the snowed mountains of Malaga in the Winter, you are getting enchanted by the almond blossoms in Spring. Autumn shows off with fiery red and yellow leaves of the trees in the gorge and every summer dawn makes you dream away...
La Seguiriya is a family-run hotel, focused on lodging, gastronomy and rural tourism.
Enjoy a stroll in the village, discovering its Thermal Spring and the Gorge. Visit the nearby villages of Axarquia or get astonished by the Sierra Nevada or Granada with the Alhambra. Always come back to the Seguiriya and enjoy its reputed kitchen.
In front of our very door you will find the Natural Parks of the Sierras Tejeda-Almijara-Alhama which are perfect for hiking and other sports. Discover on your own or ask for suggestions.
The Hotel Rooms
In order to satisfy today's needs, we equipped all rooms with shower/WC, TV, phone, internet by WiFi and central heating.
The small number of rooms allows us to allways provide an individual service in a family-atmosphere
Most parts of the groundfloor are carved into the rock of the gorge, providing an excellent temperature during all seasons. You will find here the kitchen and a dining room for up to 25 persons.Traditional furniture, plates, place settings and tablecloths support the widely renowned kitchen.
Restaurant
The dining room caters for a maximum of 25 - 40 persons. In a relaxing, family atmosphere you will enjoy a selection of typical Spanish and local dishes. Try our reputed Fish and Meat Specialities as well as Fruits and Salads of the season. You finish off your meal with a succulent desert made of yoghurt and figs or try puddings or tarts made by us.
The great weather normally permits you to eat on the terrace with great views of the mountains and gorge.
